Hello Again, Singapore
I’m back in Singapore so I set out on foot today to see what’s happening around the neighborhood. As usual, the Tiong Bahru market was pulsing with its lively shops and down-to-earth, community vibe. Lucky pineapples were hanging everywhere. It’s almost Chinese New Year, the year of the snake. Festivities kick off on Friday, followed by the holiday weekend in February. In Chinatown color is blooming all around — on the street, above the street, in the tiniest details. There are people coming and going, shopping for flowers and lucky charms in a buzz of preparation. And there’s meat! Walls of meat. Rather peculiar, but surely part of the celebration.
I hope you enjoy these colorful scenes of daily life around my share of the Lion City.
So vibrant and colorful!

KH – I so enjoy receiving your post. Is Singapore really as clean as it appears in your photos? If so, Singapore goes on our list of places to see.
Thanks for sharing…..hi to Jay.

Aw, that makes me smile RP!!! Great to hear from you and wonderful to hear you’re enjoying my blog! Yes, not only is Singapore clean, it’s incredibly safe. We live on the border of downtown and I can literally walk out the door through the middle of the city at any time of the day or night and never be bothered or fear for my safety. Coming from a woman, I think that says a lot about a place. You should definitely visit – I would love to show you the highlights of the city like Gardens by the Bay and the view from the top of Marina Bay Sands. Just get here and I’ll take care of the rest!!! 🙂
