Somewhere in the world

I almost missed this week’s photo challenge, but I didn’t want to miss the chance to share this photo — totally natural, with no color enhancement or correction.

It was approaching late afternoon and two of our close friends were getting married here. I wandered along the beach about an hour before the ceremony started. The sun was behind me so the view to the east was saturated with sapphire and turquoise, contrasting against that sliver of a deserted island barely visible at the horizon. Stunning, beautiful, paradisaical, perfect. All the adjectives applied.

Where am I? Well … I can’t tell you ALL my secrets or everyone will go now! But here’s a hint: this country is comprised of more than 7,000 islands. (And I really liked this one.)

    1. Good guess Mr. Parr! You’re correct, and the island also starts with a P — the second island we flew to from Manila. Then from the P island we took a boat to this even smaller D island where this photo was taken. The resort was called Club Paradise, with a capital P. 🙂
