Photos of the Day: Sri Lanka By Train
Photos of the Day: Adding a bit of light to the darkness as we get through the pandemic together.
This series features travel photos from my archives, shared with you as we shelter in place.
May 8th, 2020
Today, a handful of photos captured while journeying from Colombo to Hatton.
This train ride provided my first glimpse at the impossibly green landscape of interior Sri Lanka. The train stations, with their vintage fonts and well-worn platforms, felt to me like traveling back in time. With the windows open, warm breeze shared by everyone enjoying the view and homemade baked goods available for sale at each platform … I wonder why we don’t travel by train more often.
Until tomorrow,
Kelly
Nothing more romantic than taking train trips in distant lands. Beautiful 🙂

I completely agree, Andrew. I would love to do more train travel. Seeing a landscape go by from a picture window, with a cup of coffee or glass of wine in hand… it sounds magical to me. Hoping to some day get to Tibet by train. Enjoy the weekend! 🙂
