Shops & Snacks of Paris
Photo of the Day: Adding a bit of light to the darkness as we get through the pandemic together.
This series features travel photos from my archives, shared with you as we shelter in place.

We’re back to travel today, with a photo collage of shops and snacks in Paris. In addition to pâtisseries, the city has many delicious creations to browse and taste. Most importantly among them is (at least to me) … cheese! There’s a shop on nearly every street and you’ll find infinite choices in large wheels, in soft little bundles resting in oil, dressed up with fruits and nuts, and hanging out in rustic wedges. Add a baguette, a confiture and a nice bottle of wine, and you’re all set for happy hour.
Tomorrow I’ll share a few more photos of Paris and also include a poll to see where you’d like to go next. Sunday we’re ending our time in Paris with an afternoon at Versailles.
Until then, enjoy the shops and snacks of Paris. I can almost smell the cheese from here.
Fonduely,
Kelly

Ah cheese! I am happy to see the Turkish delight back today 😉 It is a beautiful series of appetizing photos, but beyond the good things to eat, there is also a taste for aestheticism, colors, shapes, display, intended or not, there is also a concern for beauty.

Merci! Love that you spotted the Turkish delight. That takes a trained eye. 🙂 And yes, I’m very concerned about beauty — not my own, LOL — but that of life and everything in it. Such a delight to photograph it all.

I am drooling. There was a famous chocolate place that I could not get into on my visit – too crowded all the time – somewhere along the Champs Elysees. It is one of my reasons to go back! Everyone recommended it – cannot remember the name!
Anyone know?

I’m not sure what chocolatier you’re referring to, but yes definitely a reason to go back!

Lovely post, has me feeling peckish! I love hunting out different food offerings when I travel. Looks like food is an art form in Paris though.

Ah Paris – food like nowhere else in the world Kelly! I have the fondest sensory memory of the first croissant I ever tasted, which was in Paris a long, long time ago. It was served fresh and still warm from the oven with home-made strawberry jam and although not necessary, fresh, sweet butter. Add a side of cafe au lait and I was in food heaven! Have had many since but none has come close to that memory!

Another tasty looking post.
You know, it just occurred to me, I’m not sure I’ve ever taken picture of any food displays, no matter how tasty looking. Maybe once or twice at the dinner table, but nothing like your shops.

Thanks, Dave! It’s funny… I never post about food and I rarely shoot pictures of it but the artistry of everything in Paris makes it my exception to the rule. I just can’t resist. 🙂
