Today we’re back on the magic carpet heading northwest to … Taiwan!
Often overshadowed by its biggest neighbor, Taiwan has a life of its own packed full of history, beauty, nature and food! I’ve never been anywhere where the night markets are such a centerpiece of the culinary and social scenes (in pre-pandemic times, of course). The people of Taiwan are some of the friendliest we’ve met in the whole world, and English is not widely spoken so communicating is a fun endeavor, full of laughs and smiles.
We’re going into the markets, up to the mountains and a few places in between. Can’t wait to share it all!
Until tomorrow,
Kelly
Post of the Day: Adding a bit of light to the darkness as we get through the pandemic together. This series features travel photos from my archives, shared with you while staying close to home.
I’m ready to follow the guide 🙂

Oooh, interesting. I would say it’s an under-rated destination. Not over-the-top when you get there, but rather quietly and thoroughly enjoyable. And the people were so friendly. Thanks, A! 🙂

Oh, yay!! Good choice to have on your list! Happy to give you a preview over the next couple of days. Taiwan is quietly alluring. Still waters run deep, so to speak. Would be a great place for a road trip + hiking!

Looking forward. Envy you so much! We were really looking forward to our Taiwan trip but it got cancelled because of the pandemic. The good side is we can use your tips and have an even better trip next time.

Cool! Hope you find some places of interest among where we visited. We were almost entirely along the west coast — would have loved to see the east coast as we read there are some really beautiful spots. Thanks for your comment!
