Lawrence Elk

Alpha Male

Alpha Male

November 6th, 2020

After yesterday’s chocolate moose, here’s a glimpse of a large herd of elk we spotted on our photo tour around Grand Teton National Park. We hopped out of the vehicle and walked a quarter mile toward them. They were bedded down in the meadow and it wasn’t until they stood up to trot away from us that we realized how many were in the herd — about 70 in all, various sizes and ages, with one alpha male leading the pack. Shall we call him Lawrence (W)Elk?

Bison tomorrow!

Enjoy the weekend,
Kelly
