Bryce from the Rim
December 2nd, 2020
Today we’re viewing more of Bryce Canyon National Park from the rim. Highway 63 leads south, following the west rim of the canyon to Yovimpa Point where the road ends near the boundary of the park. Along the way, you can stop to view the canyon from pull-outs at locations including Piracy Point, Natural Bridge, Ponderosa Canyon and Rainbow Point. It’s a stunning drive in the early morning when the colors are just starting to come to life. We’ll go deeper into the canyon tomorrow.
On a side note, since most of us are still staying home wishing we could get away, here’s a documentary to watch that will teleport you to the desert of Egypt for an archaeological adventure: Secrets of the Saqqara Tomb. You can find it on Netflix. I got sucked into it tonight and couldn’t stop watching the fascinating story, clues and life revealed from thousands of years ago. Turn on the subtitles, bring your large paintbrush and dress for dust.
More tomorrow from Bryce,
Kelly

Mornings are such a nice time at Bryce – a little chilly when I was there, but with such great light and a nice way to leg into the broiling daytime temps. I’m writing down your Netflix title for future viewing!

Your photos give an idea of the type of landscape. It’s like exploring the insides of the earth after erosion has removed what was on the surface.

Yes! Good way to describe it. I should explain more about how the erosion happened.
