The Brightest Light
January 20th, 2021
A star was born today. Amanda Gorman transfixed us all with her poem, “The Hill We Climb.” Her words and thoughts will not leave my mind:
“For there is always light. If only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we’re brave enough to be it.”
What an unforgettable day of change and hope, overflowing with inspiration.
MADAM VICE PRESIDENT HARRIS.
Here’s to the future, together.
More tomorrow,
Kelly

My favorite part was,
“Scripture tells us to envision
that everyone shall sit under their own vine and fig tree
And no one shall make them afraid
If we’re to live up to our own time
Then victory won’t lie in the blade
But in all the bridges we’ve made
That is the promise to glade”
What a great poet!

She took my breath away and brought tears to my eyes. We keep hearing the expression, “The best is yet to come.” Yesterday it arrived and she was that “best”.

Absolutely! The best. She met the moment so perfectly. I can’t wait to watch her talent shine for many years to come.

I was so moved by her words. The tears came during the inauguration acceptance speeches, and then again during Amanda’s poem. Your photo is appropriate.

I can still see her face and hear her words, Kelly. So powerful. As was so much of the day. Peggy and I were glued to our television from 6 am to 9 pm. (Longer than I have ever watched TV.) It is so good to feel hopeful again and to watch how fast Biden is moving since. Thanks much for your post. –Curt

Our young poet has a bright, bright future: I hear she’s even going to read something at the Super Bowl. Well-deserved praise for her!!!
