Lake Tahoe Sunshine
February 20th, 2021
After this morning’s flurries and three inches of new snow, the NHL had no game against the sun. Our high altitude Lake Tahoe sunshine broke out around 10:00 a.m., defeating the surface of the ice, rendering it soft and unsafe for the players. The second and third periods of the game were postponed until tonight at 9:00 p.m. Pacific time., and tomorrow’s game has been rescheduled for 7:00 p.m.
This is morning’s view, about 5 miles up the road from the rink. Below, you’ll find a short video of the C-130 fly-by after the plane passed the rink and continued north beyond Zephyr Cove.
BLUE, white and bright, it was a spectacular winter day.
See you tomorrow,
Kelly
Post of the Day: Adding a bit of light to the darkness as we get through the pandemic together. This series features travel photos from my archives, shared with you while staying close to home.
That sunshine, that sky and those waters are so postcard perfect. Bad for the game, but a day as beautiful as this must bring hope that good things are still abundant around us, and we are hopefully moving towards the good outdoor times.

A strange day of hockey in Tahoe but at least the Avs got the win. Beautiful pictures.

It sure was a strange day of hockey! Nothing went as planned except the nice views, LOL. Thanks, Steven and Annie.

Surely a beautiful view of the season, when on the same day Parisians are having a picnic sitting on the lawns of the parks …
