Catrineta in Carvoeiro
March 2nd, 2021
Today we’re continuing our wander through the Algarve with a stop in sunny Carvoeiro.
We LOVED our two-night stay here at Algar Seco Parque, located on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. The complex has studios, suites catrineta (♥), apartments, bungalows and villas within a beautifully landscaped site. Rates are reasonable for such comfortable accommodations (with kitchens) — 68 to 200+ Euros per night. We relaxed on our terrace, stopped by the pool, and followed the neighboring boardwalk into town where we watched a football match with the locals and enjoyed a great dinner in view of the town’s beach.
If you’re in search of a relaxing coastal getaway when we’re free to roam the globe again, this beachy little town just might do the trick. I highly recommend!
Scroll down to stroll the boardwalk at sunset. Does it get any better?
See you tomorrow!

P.S. I’m behind on comments again and will reply tomorrow.
Post of the Day: Adding a bit of light to the darkness as we get through the pandemic together. This series features travel photos from my archives, shared with you while staying close to home.
A lovely spot to watch the sun set. Far too busy for us in the summer months. Maybe not this year? 🙂 🙂

Probably not. Even with things improving, I don’t expect to be flying across any oceans before fall at the earliest.

Amazing sunset pics and location. That boardwalk looks like absolute bliss on a no hurry vacation.
Also, there seem to be lights fitted, do you have a pic of how it looks after dark? It would feel amazing to stand there in the dark and hear the surf breaking, I think.

I know! I was looking at those lights thinking how nice it is that the boardwalk is illuminated at night. Unfortunately, we weren’t there after dark to enjoy it. If I ever go back, I’ll get a photo!

Although there don’t seem to be any exceptional monuments in Carvoeiro, I understand the desire to enjoy a few days in this pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. The design of the tourist complex is tasteful and the boardwalk is just brilliant to take a comfortable walk on the cliff.

Yes, the boardwalk is such an enjoyment. All good things in close proximity including a couple restaurants and a nice hill to walk up on the way home to get some slow exercise after dinner (and an Ile flottante). 🙂

Soon, soon, please! What an idyll. How will I ever catch up with all the places you have teased us with this past year? 🙂

Ha! Such strange and stagnant times indeed. Happy that the posts are teasing you. It’s been fun reliving them but I’m running out. I’ve decided to go for a full 365 posts (about 33 to go) and then I’m going to take a break. Hoping to maybe fit in a spring trip to get the wheels turning again and write about something new.
