Sri Lanka

Eight years ago, in April of 2013, we were in Sri Lanka exploring Colombo, Hatton, Sri Pada, Yala, Mirissa, Unawatuna and Galle. What an extraordinary country with its pristine beaches, lush mountains, green tea country, diverse wildlife and welcoming people. When I dream of travel, inevitably my mind goes here. Sri Lanka is the whole package.

Beautiful beach, we loved our trip to Srilanka. Because of Monsoon we headed to the East coast which was beautiful but we would love to explore the South and West coast one day

We love Pawleys Island SC. Headed there at the end of the month. Dreaming of pretty skies, warmer weather, and the luck of finding Pawleys Island shells.

When all I have to do is dream … I dream of places I don’t know to discover, I dream of places I know to return to, I dream of travelling, of knowing, of observing, of colours, of shapes, of light, I am curious about other places … and not only on Saturday.

I’m beginning to think a tropical ‘get away from it all’ island might be a perfect escape, Kelly. I have a similar photo with a graceful palm tree hanging over the beach from Costa Rica. That would do. 🙂

My travel dreams cannot be contained in a single comment! They range from small to huge: my next car ride out into the Hill Country, a road trip throughout the American West, a new region of Asia, and always, always, the Himalayas! Sri Lanka is so loved by travelers and yet it had never really surfaced in my destination dreams until recently when blogging friends like you raved about it. Good to know!
