Repost of the Day: Autumn at Stanley and Pacific Spirit
October 3rd, 2020
More fall! Nature speaks in deep reds and golden yellows at Stanley Park and Pacific Spirit Regional Park in Vancouver. Leaves are like confetti, celebrating the end of another summer.
Enjoy! Tomorrow we’re back on the magic carpet, on our way to the next destination.

Repost of the Day: Adding a bit of light to the darkness as we get through the pandemic together. This series features travel photos from my archives, shared with you while staying close to home.

The beauty of Stanley Park and Pacific Spirit Regional Park speaks silently. An entire season’s story unfolds in broad strokes of fall color knit with smaller discoveries like spider webs and mushrooms. Walking the quiet trails, it’s easy to imagine what the native landscape of Vancouver looked like a few hundred years ago when the Squamish and Musqueam people lived here. Much has changed since then, but the golden hues of autumn remain and feeling tiny among tall trees surely holds as much magic for me as it has for every person who has ever explored these lands.
I can’t help but think that to the shimmering beauty of the colours is also added a touch of nostalgia for the good days that are leaving and makes us cherish this last reminiscence of summer.

Absolutely! A touch of sadness and a time of transition. Sometimes I hate to see summer go, sometimes I can’t wait for winter. This year, I have mixed feelings.

It’s not so vibrant in Bangalore, though we can see traces 🍁🍂🍁 in some of the parks.

Fall colors have started to brighten the countryside here in southern Oregon, Kelly. Always a joy. I can imagine that they are gorgeous as far north as Vancouver. I need to start taking some photos for my annual welcome fall post. –Curt

Both are such special places. I’m glad I don’t have far to go to enjoy them. Beautiful photos. The fall colours are just starting. I think another week or so ’til their full glory.
